SBI for Professional Organizers: How SBI Helped Me Promote my Organizing Business, Gain Credibility, and Get Customers

I'm Professional Organizer Andrew Neary.

A few short years ago my organizing business was struggling. I knew how to organize but I knew nothing about marketing. So when it came to promoting my services, I did what many of my colleagues at the POC and NAPO did. I hired a web designer and he created a 5 page, generic website for me called OrganizingbyAndrew.

Although technically well designed, my website, like so many others (and perhaps even yours), did nothing to position the value of my services as distinctive from others, didn’t help to establish my expertise, and worst of all, could not even be found in the search engines by potential customers. My website generated no leads and I was dependent for work on referrals from friends and contacts. I was even forced to supplement my organizing income by taking other jobs. I was frustrated and discouraged.

• My volume of business has increased exponentially. I'm getting so busy that I am now in discussions with a colleague to help me service some of my clients.
• My website presells my organizing services. As a result, all I generally have to do is meet my clients and I get hired on the spot. For example, I just landed a lucrative job in a wealthy Toronto neighborhood that will literally keep me busy for an entire month. The client found me through my SBI website and actually raved about it!
• My site has helped to establish me as an expert in my field. I've been invited to speak at George Brown College (twice), the Toronto Business Development Center and the Career Enrichment Center.
• My media exposure had grown tremendously. I've been quoted in the Toronto Star and, in the Ottawa Citizen in an article on basement organizing and another on garage organizing. I've been a guest expert on TV's Downright Domestic and was even asked to audition for a show of my own, which I turned down. All of this media attention was generated through my SBI website.
• I've been contacted twice by internet advertising placement companies to purchase advertising on my site on behalf of their clients. This is another source of income for me.
